It was an accident, I swear.

I was on my way to cast on for Korknisse. Really. These 200+ stitches totally cast themselves on without warning.

I’m taking this as a sign that I’m not fully ready to commit to a Venezia colour scheme yet. (But thank you all so much for the comments. It pleases me that not all of you are in agreement either) ;) I rather think at this point I should just put them all on the floor and see which one Beatrice likes best.

Congrats to Twig on her finished Basic Black (or, Basic Burgundy perhaps?), modified for winter wear with full sleeves. It is always incredibly reassuring to know that my patterns work in someone else’s hands and not just mine. Also, now I want another one with full sleeves too. Hmm.

Happy weekend!

    :D All by itself….

I would be interested to see which is B’s favourite… and how she would indicate that…

  2. Heh… yeah, all by itself! It’s looking good so far!
That was a very pretty Basic Scarlet sweater!

You know, I saw that come up in my Ravelry friend activity and thought to myself, “I thought she was doing Venezia. I must have that wrong. She’s doing Ivy League.” LOL. To be honest, I photocopied the pattern from my library’s mag today. I love the overall effect but I’m not so excited about the individual colors. Would that kill the mojo around the neck steek? I must think about this…

Ivy League is looking good so far. I love how corrugated ribbing looks.
I’m starting to wish I’d bought yarn for the vest instead of for Tangled Yoke.
I’ll just have to live/fairisle knit vicariously through you for now!

Well it looks great so far anyway! I frogged my Venezia :( It will be cast on soon I am sure though.

  6. That Ivy League vest was designed for you in mind, I so know it! It’s going to look great.

And how exicting was it to see someone finish Basic Black?! I took a look at Twig’s photo, it looks great in burgundy! That’s very cool.

Thanks for linking us to the Korknisse! My 8-year-old beginning knitter has started making some for her sister for Christmas, and has learned ribbing and K2tog decreases for the occasion. The very hardest part, as it turns out, is not giving away the surprise by saying “Korknisse!” all the time. She’s not yet up to dpns, so we’re knitting them flat and practicing seams, too.

  8. heh heh – yay for indecision….that vest will rock!

  9. Ah yes the classic accidental-cast-on-of-hundreds-of-stitches. I know the complex well! I plan to make up some Korknisses (Korknissi?) as well. So where do you find the corks?

  10. Speaking of Basic Black, I just found some Wildflower DK for 25% off. In black even. Sigh. http://store.nobleknits.com/widkbypl.html
