Winter winter winter

The holidays are gone, but winter sure ain’t. Oh, would it were the other way around…

A scene from today:

The Charades would like to report that yes indeed, 15cm of snow has accumulated. On top of, you know, all the snow that was there already.

I have also not stopped with the winding of yarn. I can’t wait for all of it to grow up to be socks. In fact, given that this week I am sort of feeling like a weary screw-up, I sort of wish socks were my day job. Thank goodness for yarn.

Have some hot cocoa for me! And keep the knitting close by.

  1. Ohhhhhh! Everyone feels like that sometimes (I think it’s esp hard in academia.) You’re only human. Knit on!

  2. Aw, sounds like one of those weeks. Hot cocoa and sock knitting sound like quite the cure! Maybe a good novel, too?

Love all that gorgeous sock yarn and your sock-in-progress.

Socks as a day job would be awesome!

  4. We’ve been having a pretty snowy winter too. I’ve had enough!

  5. I hope tomorrow will be better. Play with your yarn, that will make you feel better. :) It always works for me.

I want to knit socks all day long too!

  7. Hope your week gets better – and if you find day job knitting socks be sure to tell me about it :o)

Send some snow here! We haven’t got any. *shuffles off to make nice cocoa with REAL Belgian chocolate smuggled into the UK in a suitcase ;-) *

  9. The socks look great. The yarn look great. And for me – the snow looks great. I love it.

  10. Do you find winding yarn to be relaxing? I like to wind up the yarn I have as well, it makes me feel like I’m ready to start something new. Although when I go to cast on, I find that I haven’t wound the one I want to knit with!

Mmm, hot cocoa and yarn cakes! Perfect ;-)

  12. The one good thing about all the cold is that it can make you feel really smart for wearing wool socks.

I agree, thank goodness for yarn.

  13. I was feeling the same until I started knitting with some lovely rosy tweed yarn the other day and I can’t believe the lift it gave me!

  14. I want your sock yarn stash!
