eh, i’ll predraft a little bit if the top is super compact, but overall i’m anti-predrafting. too lazy and in my opinion, not all it’s cracked up to be.
I do to, it takes me almost as long to pre-draft my fiber as it does for me to spin it. But it’s so worth it for me and my self-taught beginner spinner self. Maybe some day I won’t need to, but for now any excuse to play with fiber suits me fine.
Not being much of a spinner yet, I did some pre-drafting (Louet Northern Lights) and knitted mittens from the roving, then felted them. It was fun to see the colours get more blendy with the predrafting.

If I'd been 60 seconds quicker I'd probably have been the first on the scene - brisk reminder, you never know what'll happen! 1 day ago

I like predrafting too. I will do it 75% of the time with my spinning fiber.

Yep, I do it too. No shame in that.
I’m also a predrafter. Whoo!
That looks so so soft….
I’m just learning to spindle, and since the drafting is what is confusing me most, I’m going to pre-draft, too.

I’m a beginning spindler, and pre-drafting is the only way I know how to work, so far. I’m afraid to try it without! And I like playing with it.
I’m learning to spin with a drop spindle currently, so pre-drafting makes it much easier for me to concentrate on what the spindle is doing.
That color blue is so beautiful.
Nice blue! I pre-draft sometimes, but it depends on what fibre I’m using and what yarn I’m trying to achieve.
