    thanks for the smile…and idea!

  10. YUM, I so agree. The other day I bought a skein of sock yarn only because I knew it would make me happy just to take it out and look at it. I may never knit with it I just want to know it is there.

I’m once again down to no sock yarn in the stash, other than what’s on the needles (Cornish Organic 4ply in their St Ives colour, lovely for sturdy socks). Oxford is notoriously difficult for finding knitting supplies, but I have now discovered a little yarn stall on the craft market. Guess where I will be on Saturday- not that I *needed* your post, but it certainly isn’t going to stop me, is it? :-)

  12. Your understanding of “a bit of sock yarn” seems to be slightly different than mine :-)

As one who sleeps with a skein of silk next to her on the night table, I don’t see a problem.

  14. I love it!! There are days that I just fondle my stash, lol. I thought I was the only strange one. No not strange… just getting creative ideas by looking at my stash.

  15. Oh, you are SO right!!!!

  16. Amen! Sometimes we just need a moment of sanity in the work week. If yarn provides, enjoy and breathe.

  17. That is one gorgeous collection of yarn! Sure to put a smile on any knitter’s face.

  18. I wish they had sqish-o-vision monitors. Boy would I love to rub a couple of those lovelies between my fingers. Le sigh.

  19. Great comments on awesome article

  20. It’s always comforting to one’s own sense of sanity to discover others have the same methods! Thanks for sharing. :-)

I love looking at y yarn stash because of the (as yet unfulfilled) promises it holds. Plus the skeins are so jewel-like in their colors. Uh-oh, now I feel the need to head out to the yarn store…
