Weekend recovery

I spent this past weekend in the company of ten other knitters in a cottage (well, more like a 2-storey rental house, but still), a seems to be becoming an annual tradition. I have to say there are worse ways to spend a weekend.

There was a lot to fit in, though.

There was the eating:

Feb25-Cheese

The drinking:

Feb24-Weekend4

Feb24-WineYarn

The knitting:

Feb25-EmilyJoyce

feb27-Sock

(I finally finished my socks! And started another pair, forthwith)

There was even the occasional amount of outdoorsy physical exertion:

Feb25-Snowshoes2

(Some of it unexpected, as we all pushed our cars out of the snow-and-ice-covered drive on Sunday morning. That is less recommendable but still memorable all the same.)

And while I didn’t (yet) get my Gwendolyn cardigan done, I did at least start the sewing up and the hood. Still looking possible for a February finish. (All fingers are crossed).

Now the only trouble is, I had to get up like a normal person and eat normal meals and things, and that’s just a crying shame. Maybe when I get up tomorrow there will be a three-course breakfast and mimosas waiting for me. (Hey, a girl can dream.)

May your Monday evening be filled with knitting and relaxation!

  4. sounded like a fun knitting ‘retreat’!! i love your red socks! but NOT the digging out of your car!! i’m knitting the Echo Flower shawl in Butter Pecan! it’s going well now that i fully understand(half-memorized) the pattern! also walked Sat for JDRF(Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure) for my g’son’s team to fundraise! gave a Candle Flame shawl to a very elderly lady today at church! a knitting retreat sounds really inviting to me, esp if it’s snowing!

  5. Weekends like this are such a blessing aren’t they! Love your red socks!

It looks like you had a wonderful weekend.

Those socks look extremely comfortable (love the color!).

I’ll keep my fingers crossed you finish Gwendolyn! Can’t wait to see the finished product.

  7. I meet with a group of ladies twice a month to knit and share some fellowship. I really look forward to it. We have such a good time and then we go to lunch afterwards.

Sounds like a great weekend. I actually did spend the entire evening knitting tonight after the kids went to bed. I wanted to finish my sweater by the end of the month too. I might be able to get the knitting done but I wont have time to put it together.

  10. Sounds like a great weekend. Food, friends and knitting….what more does a girl need???? xxx

  11. looks like an awesome time!! would you happen to know the yarn and/or pattern of the green/yellow sweater the woman is wearing opening the wine? I love the color scheme and look of that sweater!!

  12. That sounds like my kind of weekend.

  13. Jodie – I don’t know what the yarn is (though I believe it is something from Briar Rose), but the pattern is Amused, by Jordana Paige! ;)

Sounds like a good time was had by all! :) I woke up on Monday stiff and sore from moving furniture.

  17. Ooh, sounds like a terrific weekend! I’m a bit jealous of snow and ice, as Chicago has had an awfully mild winter.
