A day in pictures

We came, we saw, we bought some yarn and petted some sheep.

Today is my re-entry day post-Rhinebeck, and it’s always a bit of a struggle once you’re rested up again, to discover that you have to start the day without knitters or a cheese plate or a bunch of yarn shopping. (In defiance, I cast on a new shawl this morning just because. It’ll get done whenever it gets done.) So now I have to get on with the things I stopped doing last week before Rhinebeck. Although there’s lots I could report specifically about how nice it is to spend a weekend with knitting friends where the to do list includes knitting, shopping, eating cheese and drinking wine, well…That pretty much sums up the key points. That and getting to visit Knitting World live and in person, when you walk through the fairgrounds and happen upon people you know from the internet and haven’t seen since last year’s Rhinebeck, that’s pretty much why the weekend is great. I’ve been going for about six years now and it hasn’t gotten boring yet – and it turns out I still buy yarn there, even though I don’t need any more. Yarn chatter later, but for now, here is more of the day in pictures.

  1. Looks like great fun! Good luck with re-entry — that’s always hard. I’m just back from vacation and feeling a bit blue about having so much to do at work to get caught up!

What fun!!! I am so jealous…gosh makes me want to run to my LYS to get more yarn. But just came home with four more hanks. So I will sit and look at your wonderful pics and wish I had been there. Maybe next year.

  3. So jealous but what fun you had! Thank you for sharing Glenna :)

  4. Paula Bannon

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I’ve yet to make it there but am hoping maybe someday. Until then, I’ll just have to live vicariously through pictures!

  5. I missed you, somehow, in the crowds. Hope to run into you in person some other time.

  6. O.K. The girl holding the yarn?
Winner of the “Happiest Yarn Shopper Award”!
Glad the weather cooperated, but soooo sorry I missed it! My friend and I went last year and it was fantastic! I couldn’t make it work this year and I have to say I’m still feeling the sting of not going. Your pictures help though; thank-you.

All that lovely yarn and wooly critters. And. .. Gorgeous fall foliage. I’m green with envy.

Thanks for the llama pix! I liked the beautiful buttons too! What a great experience for all the knitterly and fibrely and animally with fleece folks!

  9. Fun, fun, fun. Even from a long distance away. I agree about the Happiest Yarn Shopper Award. I couldn’t look at her–or her yarn without a big grin on my face! Thanks for peek at a great time.

  10. I really hope to make it one year looks like a great time!!!!!

Lovely photos! You really captured the essence of it. (And why didn’t you tell me to bring that gorgeous brown sheep home with me?!)

It looks like you had beautiful weather for the weekend! How lovely. And I agree with Lynn B about the “Happiest Yarn Shopper Award”! In fact, every single person in your pictures looks like they are having the time of their lives. Thank you for sharing.

  15. I could post photos similar to yours. It was quite simply heaven. I was on a fiber high for four days (took two workshops). We have been going for about ten years and it will never get boring. Never. Never. Never.
