I looked at that first pic and thought, hey, that looks like Dream in Color yarn, in, um, probably Gothic Rose. And then read further and saw that that's exactly what it is. I can't help but feel that there are a whole lot of my brain cells devoted to yarn recognition that really ought to be going to, I dunno, solving world hunger or something. Stupid brain. I will stab you with a q-tip, brain.

And yes, you're doomed, the Smooshy got you. I don't even knit socks and it got me too - hey, sock yarn makes some great lace scarves...

Wow! Very cool. I especially like India where he joined in their choreography. A reminder that the world is a beautiful place and so are the people in it (the majority of them anyway). What a lucky guy to visit so many places. Thanks for sharing.

I found out about this video when Yarnagogo posted it, and I think it's pretty cool--but I've go a couple lingering questions, too. The biggest negative is, I think, the gum company sponsorship. I suppose it would be idealistic to imagine that one might be able to do all the travelling etc necessary without corporate (or private, I suppose) sponsorship, or that an organization might sponsor him without turning him into a walking advertisement, but it does remove more than a little bit of the 'magic' for me.

Yesterday I found this related video, which made me LOL heartily--hope it has the same effect on you!

Thanks for the great and thorough review. I was baffled by the suitability of some of the patterns as well, and wondered about what all those bobbles were doing all over that lovely cardigan, why the cover sweater has that horizontal line of pattern right on the hips, and the hip ruffles as you mentioned. I also wonder if the lovely susie hoodie's triangle-shaped bias back would make my bum look even bigger than it already is. Maybe a straight line at the back would be more flattering??

I NEED to finish the baby cardigan I've been working on. I have half a front to go, and then the seaming which is probably why I haven't finished it already. Don't want to seam it. Ugh... It's a gift, too, which doesn't make the process any easier. She's already had the baby, but I think the cardigan might be too warm to wear now (it's certainly too big, too) so... I don't know. Need to finish by .. end of July!! Yes!!

I also need to finish up a couple of other projects, mainly sweaters I've cast on and never finished.

The FUN summer knitting will be Juno Regina from Knitty. :) Can't wait to get that one started! And I'll probably knit another pair of socks, too. Sock knitting is so lovely and easy and portable.
