We interrupt your Sunday broadcast…

…for just a little bit of gratuitous food picspam.

Saturday was all about the kitchen, for me, and indulging in some new recipes. First, I assembled some S’mores Cupcakes:

July8-5 July8-4

July8-6 July8-10

July8-9

They are delicious – but very sweet. Tooth-brushing and flossing is very much required. The only thing I missed in the recipe was the sprinkling of graham crumbs, and I wish I’d had them (or crushed graham crackers), it would have completed the s’mores flavour. I suspect this recipe could be made vegan with a different chocolate cake recipe and an icing alternative – but sadly for the s’mores flavour it is hard to avoid the marshmallow.

(A propos of cupcakes, I suspect that this site may be my undoing.)

Then there was dinner. Salad Nicoise and Dave Liebermann’s Foccacias with caramelized onions. MMM.

July8-1 July8-2

Oh yeah, and I finally sewed up the straps on that Honeymoon Cami as well… ;)

HoneymoonCami

It’s simple but comfy and perfect for this time of year. As with the first Honeymoon Cami I did a year ago, I added about 2 inches of length before starting the waist shaping decreases and it sits much more suitably on me than the original pattern length would. it took just over 4 balls of Luna overall for the 36″ size.

And now, to get back to that nightie and conquer the lace edging…And find people to help me eat up 2 dozen cupcakes… ;) Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

I can’t wait to have a kitchen again so I can maybe try one or all of the recipes. :-)

  3. Oh, and beautiful cami!

(I was distracted by the homemade food. I haven’t had that in over 9 weeks.)

  4. You know me, I would gladly help you eat those cupcakes! They look so GOOD!
Beautiful cami! I’m glad to hear that it fits and is comfy.

  5. I’ll be right there to help you with those cupcakes.

I love the honeymoon cami. Is that from one of the Stitch ‘n Bitch books?

  6. Lady O

    Lovely food-spam!!

The cami is lovely, so are you moving into the purples and away from the pinks?

Go you! You can beat that lace!!

  7. Cute cami! looks comfy.

S’mores are one of my favorite things. I’ll have to try that recipe!

  8. Stop with the food pics! I can’t take it! :) Everything looks delicious. And your cami came out great. Glad you had a fun weekend! Um, do you think a cupcake would survive a trip to California? ;)

  9. Whoa, those cupcakes look amazing! I’d love trying to veganize them. There is this great stuff called Ricemellow Creme that I bet would work well in the frosting, and I definitely know some good chocolate cake recipes…! Hmm. :)

    And the cami looks great!
